EveryStage Placements at Glasgow Mela 2026!
EveryStage joined Glasgow Life in Kelvingrove Park on Sunday 5th of July for the Glasgow Mela 2026!
The Glasgow Mela is Scotland’s Biggest South Asian Festival, an incredible free family event bringing workshops, international music and spectacular performance to Glasgow.
The atmosphere was buzzing and the energy was contagious as we celebrated the vibrant diversity of the city with music, dance, poetry and interactive activities, all showcasing South Asian culture.
EveryStage worked in collaboration with Glasgow Life to provide placements at the festival. Participants from our latest Introduction to Social Media and Marketing for Events course were given the opportunity to volunteer in a variety of roles, and capture content for one of Glasgow’s most vibrant and beloved annual celebrations.
The day was packed with incredible industry experience with talks from events professionals, before the volunteers completed a briefing and site walk, building key experience and knowledge of working at a major event.
The participants took on a variety of roles, including greeting the public, way finding, to help ensure the event ran smoothly, and capturing content.
The team were tasked with marketing the festival, utilising the skills that had learnt on the EveryStage ‘Introduction to Social Media and Marketing for Events’ course.
